Weather and Climate advances your understanding and effective teaching about weather, climate, and climate change.

Course Objectives

  • Develop content knowledge about how we monitor weather patterns and climate change, and the extent to which human activity may be inducing climate change
  • Continue to explore inquiry-based learning models
  • Continue to explore a media-rich learning environment to use with students
  • Learn effective teaching methodologies, strategies, and tools for use in teaching earth and space science concepts

Course Syllabus

Session 1: Weather
Participants investigate the causes of weather and explore technological advances that help us monitor daily weather patterns.

Session 2: Climate Change
Participants look at climate and consider whether human activity is inducing climate change.

Additional Course Information

We recommend course modules be taken in order. If this is not possible, it's important to have a basic knowledge of the content and methodology described in the preceding courses.
