This video segment from Between the Lions features Hip-Hoppapotamus and Rhymocerus rap about the meaning of the word “phenomenal.” The word “phenomenal” appears on the screen throughout the song. While fireworks explode around them, they sing about the word's synonyms, phenomenal things and the meaning of the word “phenomenal” as they get their pictures taken with awards. As the song continues about the meaning of phenomenal, Hip participates in the Superbowl, flies around dressed as a superhero, then drives up in a car and picks up Rhymocerus. The song ends as they drive away. This video segment provides a resource for Vocabulary, and Language and Vocabulary Development.
Academic standards correlations on Teachers' Domain use the Achievement Standards Network (ASN) database of state and national standards, provided to NSDL projects courtesy of JES & Co.
We assign reference terms to each statement within a standards document and to each media resource, and correlations are based upon matches of these terms for a given grade band. If a particular standards document of interest to you is not displayed yet, it most likely has not yet been processed by ASN or by Teachers' Domain. We will be adding social studies and arts correlations over the coming year, and also will be increasing the specificity of alignment.
