While you study GED® measurement and geometry skills, it is helpful to put them in the context of the test as a whole.
According to the GED Testing Service®, the GED Mathematics Test covers four major areas, each of which constitutes 20% to 30% of the questions.
- Number Operations and Number Sense
- Data Analysis, Statistics, and Probability
- Algebra, Functions, and Patterns
- Measurement and Geometry
The test is administered in two, equally weighted parts.
- Part I consists of 25 questions to be completed in 45 minutes.
• Students are provided with a Casio fx-260 calculator for this portion of the test. A downloadable PDF of the Calculator Handbook is found in the Resources section of this course.
- Part II consists of 25 questions to be completed in 45 minutes. Because estimation and mental math are deemed as essential math skills, no calculator is allowed.
A passing score of the GED Mathematics Test is the same as the other subject areas:
- 410 minimum score/450 average score
