Questions for Discussion: Kid Inventor: The Collapsible Lacrosse Stick
Draw a picture of Lauren's lacrosse stick before and after she modified it. What steps do you think she went through to complete her invention? What design constraints did Lauren face when she decided to modify her lacrosse stick? What tools and/or materials do you think Lauren used to cut the metal handle of the lacrosse stick; to install the screws so they would stay in place; and to insert the elastic cord and secure it at both ends of the lacrosse stick? How did Lauren's invention improve her life? Can you think of another solution that could have solved Lauren's problem?
