Discussion Questions: Geospatial Revolution: Importance of Geography

How might geography inform the long-term residential and commercial zoning decisions of coastal towns whose beaches are eroding versus the decisions of a town whose beaches are building up?
Research and discuss some occupations that have evolved since the advent of geospatial technologies. If you wanted to go into one of those fields, what curriculum might be useful at the high school level?
Plan a significant road trip by car to a place you have never visited using the following methods: printed maps only, Google Earth, and GPS. Compare and contrast the three strategies and discuss which one would give you the most geographic information. Which one would you prefer and why?
