Background Essay: PBCL in a Web Design Class

In Problem-Based Case Learning (PBCL), students apply their knowledge to real-world problems. In this video, the instructor begins the PBCL process by finding a business partner who needs a problem solved. This is called the Course/Business Matching stage. The instructor and business partner shape and then pose the problem to students.

In another stage of the process, students develop, test, and revise potential solutions. They present their solutions to the business partner. The business partner and instructor then give students feedback, allowing for another round of revisions.
