Animal shelters protect and care for homeless animals in a community. They take in animals when either the owner can no longer keep the pet or when the animal is lost. The animals are housed and are offered up for adoption. Animal shelters offer a valuable service to protect the animals and people of a community. This video segment from WILD TV features one of the two shelters operated by Albuquerque Animal Services.  For more about animal shelters, see the video segment "What Can You Do?"
