Overview
Students are taught how to interpret fractions where the denominator describes the number of equal parts and the numerator describes how many of those parts one has. They are also introduced to naming equivalent fractions by dividing a circle. This Cyberchase activity is motivated by an episode in which the CyberSquad creates a recipe for an antidote to MotherBoard's virus.

6. Discuss and compare the answer in the video clip with the students' answers to the Electro-Root part of the handout.
7. Tell the students that they will watch another video clip, in which Matt and Digit's task is to bring back 2/8 of the Healing Stone. Ask students to watch the video to see if their solution to the Healing Stone part of Handout 1 is the same as that of Matt and Digit's.
8. Show the Retrieving 2/5 of Electro-Root QuickTime Video .
9. Discuss and compare the answer in the video clip to the students' answers to the Healing Stone part of the handout.
