Underground Stream Water Treatment Systems Cook’s Run has an underground water treatment program for a particularly high level of acid mine drainage. The technology used in Cook’s Run was transferred to Pennyslvania from Western metal mines and may prove helpful for other parts of the Appalachian coal region.
